Of The Night
The Boulenger’s Indian gecko is endemic to the Western Ghats of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka and is restricted in distribution. Although terrestrial and seen on the forest floor, it can be found on tree barks in tropical deciduous and semi-evergreen forest patches. This nocturnal gecko that plays an important role in the forest’s food chain is unfortunately a victim of the illegal pet trade due to its striking patterns.
