Saurabh Sawant's Eyeview of the Animal Kingdom
Fungi or mushrooms are cleaning agents of the forest as they speed up the process of biodegradation and biodeterioration. Fungi, together with bacteria, are responsible for most of the recycling which returns organic material of dead organisms to the soil. Without fungi, these recycling activities would be seriously reduced. They also act as bio-controllers. These Hygrocybe sp. grows on the forest floor and performs its duty with high efficiency in the Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary.
