Saurabh Sawant's Eyeview of the Animal Kingdom
Seen here is a pika from a remote location in Ladakh emerging from one of its many burrows. Pikas are tiny, agile and move through a vast network of burrows. Also known as mouse hares, these herbivorous lagomorphs feed on plant material that grows in the Himalaya as well as collect and store food during the summer season. Pikas are very quick and make short high-pitched squeaks to communicate with other individuals.
