Saurabh Sawant's Eyeview of the Animal Kingdom
Odonates – a collective term for dragonflies and damselflies are considered to be the best indicators of freshwater and forest ecosystems. Their beauty is unmatched. Euphaea damselflies, also known as torrent darts, like most damselflies, are extremely specific in habitat preference. As can be seen in this photograph, these damsels prefer very fast flowing perennial streams to dwell and lay their eggs. One can see flashes of brilliant colours darting through the white water cascades. This tiny jewel sitting on a twig right in the middle of a forest stream is a perfect representative of these damsels.
