Jumping Spider by Dr. Manoj C. Sindagi
Jumping spiders belong to the family Salticidae, and are so called because they are able to jump many times their body length, while securing themselves to an anchor by a single silk strand. Generally diurnal, they have excellent vision with eight eyes arranged in three or four rows. Photographed in a farmhouse garden on the outskirts of Bangalore, the technical quality, image composition and the bright hues of the flower made this one of the most dramatic images we received.
